This Week at SHoP

Dear friends,

Our Grand Open House last Saturday was wonderful, a special thanks to the artists, the volunteers and to all of you for coming out.
Now, let the wild rumpus start!

This week at SHoP:

Thursday, October 6th, 2:00 – 8:00 pm: The Red Thread Project® Stitching Studio at SHoP

Knit a hat. Crochet a cap. Gather with old friends while you meet new acquaintances. The Red Thread Project® celebrates community connections, both visible and invisible, while encouraging and fostering individual creativity.

This event is free and open to all. Learn the basics of knitting or share your skills with others. As we gather, we make hats to be collected and added to a half-mile long hand knit i-cord that symbolizes our interdependence and connections.

Friday, October 7th 8:00 – 10:00 pm: Odd Geometry Tour kickoff

Conrad Freiburg blends a traditional folk sound with experimental meanderings into Minimalism and polyrythmic improvisation. For the Launch of his tour at the Fenn House, he will be setting up the Pod of Absence and playing selections from his new album “the Undecagon.” Tickets sold at the door for $7 or at Conrad’s website:
Original Harmonographs and CD’s for sale at event. Don’t miss this!

Saturday, October 8th 11:00 am – 2:00 pm: Fort Cardboard with artists Chris Lin and Laura Shaeffer

An important part of SHoP’s mission is to expose kids and adults to art and culture through hands-on experience with materials while working directly with professional artists and to give kids space to freely create a world of their own using found and household materials.
$20 per workshop per child, discount on siblings. This is the first in a series of workshops called: Make-Believe with Chris Lin and Laura Shaeffer ( Check out our website for details on themes, dates and times during the week.

Sunday Community Potluck Dinner, 5:00 – 9:00 pm

As always, please bring a favorite dish to share and everything you need to enjoy it – plate, utensils, glass, and a drink. (In keeping with being green, we do not provide plastic cups, utensils, or plates so please come prepared). Remember, one’s generosity and culinary care is the key ingredient for a successful and delicious potluck!
This is a family friendly event so bring the littles!
